Read the gap before the open argues back

Panel Poplar Field runs small-group workshops where traders mark overnight gaps, decide between continuation and fade bias, and rehearse entries on real SET index history — with notebooks, printed charts, and instructor feedback at the desk.

Gap classification you can defend at the open

Most morning losses come from treating every gap the same. Our training separates exhaustion fades from continuation gaps using volume context, prior-day structure, and a written bias declaration before price moves.

Continuation gaps

When overnight sentiment aligns with the prior session trend, the first pullback often holds. We practice identifying clean gaps that deserve a with-trend entry rather than an immediate fade.

Fade scenarios

Extended moves into resistance, thin pre-market volume, and gap-and-crap patterns each carry distinct fade rules. You mark the chart, state the invalidation, and only then consider a counter-trend entry.

Thai session context

Examples draw from SET index behavior, regional ADR influence, and holiday-thinned liquidity. The mechanics transfer, but the charts we study match the hours you actually trade.

What changes after a marked workbook

I used to fade every gap up on SET because it felt contrarian. The workshop made me write down why — and the volume checklist stopped me from shorting two continuation days in the same week.

— Krit P., swing trader, attended March workshop

The laminated continuation card sits on my desk. I still miss entries sometimes, but I no longer argue with a gap I never classified. That alone saved me from revenge trading before lunch.

— Mei L., study group member since January
